Casualty Ward: Chris Hill and Cade Cust injured in Challenge Cup final

Keep up to date with the latest injury news in Casualty Ward, this week including Chris Hill and Cade Cust.

Wigan half-back Cade Cust and Huddersfield prop Chris Hill both sustained injuries during the Challenge Cup final over the weekend.

Cust, 23, left the field during the second half due to a suspected shoulder injury. Receiving treatment on the field and looking in discomfort, he was replaced by returning skipper Thomas Leuluai.

Meanwhile, 34-year-old Hill left the field on 20 minutes due to a leg injury. It was the England international’s fifth appearance in a cup final, having won it twice with Warrington.

Theo Fages was also ruled out ahead of the clash and is set for a lengthy spell on the sidelines, according to head coach Ian Watson.

On Hill, Watson said: “People with that level of experience are massive in these kind of games.

“I thought Chris Hill was outstanding. To lose him was a big, big blow.
