Casemiro reveals what has surprised him about Man United as he makes Real Madrid admission

Casemiro admits he's surprised by how quickly the Manchester United fans have taken to him following his move last summer from Real Madrid.

The Brazil international swapped the Bernabeu for Old Trafford last year. United paid an initial £60m for the experienced midfielder.

The 31-year-old has gone on to become a key player for Erik ten Hag's side. Casemiro scored seven goals in 51 games in his first season as a United player.

Reflecting on the move he made last summer, the midfielder has spoken about how much he is enjoying life at Old Trafford. He admitted his shock at just how quickly the United fans have taken to him, adding that he is enjoying the competitive nature of the Premier League.

In an interview with Brazilian publication Placar, Casemiro said: "Of course, everyone wants affection and respect, wants to mark an era of titles, but I didn't imagine it would be so fast, this is very rewarding and has been surprising.

“First, I talked to my family (about leaving Real Madrid), who immediately accepted it. It was the chance to leave a big club on top, at an age that still allows me to have that willpower.

"If it were two or three years from now, I wouldn't leave Real Madrid to go to another big one, I wouldn't have that ambition to change leagues and leverage another giant club.
