Neymar drops hint on his future after Manchester United transfer speculation

Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar has indicated he will stay with the Ligue 1 side for the upcoming season.

The Brazilian's future has been one of the main transfer window stories of the summer. There has been speculation linking the 31-year-old with leaving Princes Park after six years, with Manchester United one club to be loosely linked earlier this year should Qatari banker Sheikh Jassim take over at Old Trafford. The Manchester Evening News understands that a move would be incredibly unlikely under the current regime.

Unconfirmed reports emerged in May that United had supposedly made contact with PSG over a move for the Brazilian, but there have been no concrete updates from either party since. United boss Erik ten Hag played down that talk, when asked in a press conference towards the end of the season.

Ten Hag was asked whether Neymar was a player of interest to him. He replied: "When we have news we will tell you."

Rumours emerged amid the ongoing takeover saga at Manchester United. One of the two leading candidates in that process is of course Qatari billionaire Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad Al Thani - and PSG are owned by Qatari Sports Investments.

Neymar scored 13 goals and assisted 11 in his 20 league appearances for PSG last season.
