Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez spotted as Man United get double injury boost vs Tottenham

Casemiro and Lisandro Martinez have arrived with the Manchester United squad as they welcome Tottenham to Old Trafford on Sunday.

The pair have both been back in training this week ahead of the game as United seek to make it back-to-back home Premier League wins. Having missed most of the action this term it is a massive boost.

Although they aren't guaranteed to play in the match it is nevertheless progress towards a much-anticipated return. Speaking ahead of the clash with Ange Postecoglou's Tottenham side, Ten Hag said, "We have had a lot of injuries, so this week in training, the last couple of days, Licha Martinez training, Casemiro training, Luke Shaw training, so there are players returning.

"They are coming in for selection for Sunday." It is a timely boost too with Chelsea leapfrogging United and moving into eighth position after beating Fulham on Saturday. Ten Hag has his sights set higher than that though and is looking to cut the gap to Spurs down to just five points.

Casemiro and Martinez were both central parts of the side that finished third last year but have played just 13 games between them in the league all season. Martinez has been out with a foot injury since the 3-1 defeat to Brighton in mid-September and will be welcomed back with Jonny Evans deputising in his place. Casemiro, on the other hand, has been unavailable due to a hamstring problem.
