Carlos Corberan confirms triple Huddersfield Town injury blow ahead of Barnsley clash

Carlos Corberan has confirmed that Sorba Thomas will see a knee specialist for the injury that forced him off at half time in the win at Middlesbrough. He will not be available for the Yorkshire derby against Barnsley on Friday evening and Huddersfield Town supporters will be sweating over his availability beyond that.

The Terriers boss also revealed that Levi Colwill and Danny Ward are both still unavailable for selection as he previewed Friday evening’s clash. Given the trio’s importance throughout the season, Town fans are understandably worried about the chance of them potentially missing the play-offs.

Speaking to the media prior to Friday evening’s derby, Corberan said: “Sorba Thomas is seeing a knee specialist today. He is clearly not going to be involved on Friday, but we do not know exactly how long he will be out for right now.

"The situation with Ward and Colwill is the same as for Middlesbrough. There is a little bit of doubt over Josh Koroma - we need to see how he progresses today.

“It is not an important injury, but he felt something in the hamstring. He trained today but we need to see the reaction in the hamstring. If it is positive he'll be involved."

Those injuries could not have come at a worse time Corberan and Town. The play-offs are, of course, what fans will worry about but the final games of the regular season are also vitally important for the purpose of building momentum.
