Carl Starfelt sees Celtic transfer exit destination 'confirmed' by DENTIST as Celta Vigo move takes cosmetic twist

Carl Starfelt has seemingly had his imminent Celtic exit for Spain confirmed by his DENTIST as the Swedish star closes in on a move to Spain.

The defender was given an appearance off the bench on Saturday in a 4-2 Premiership win over Ross County, and Brendan Rodgers admitted at the match Starfelt was dropped to the subs amid a look into a transfer. Reports then emerged that Rafa Benitez wanted the defender and the La Liga side he is closing in on is within driving distance of partner Jacynta Galabadaarachchi, who left Celtic Women for Sporting Lisbon earlier this summer.

Neither club has confirmed the move as of yet but Dr Jonathan Fitzpatrick, "a renowned aesthetic and restorative dentist and international lecturer based in Glasgow", has sent a farewell message to his client ahead of his departure from Scotland. Taking to his Instagram story, he wrote 'all the best' with a Spanish flag emoji and clapping hands, with a photo of the 28-year-old in his practice.

Rodgers will now look to dip back into the transfer market in search of a defensive addition after Starfelt's exit. Celtic's next clash is at Aberdeen this Sunday.
