Cardiff City 1-1 Blackpool: Another Joel Bagan goal rescues a point for the Bluebirds

Another goal from the in-form Joel Bagan rescued a point for Cardiff City as they shared the spoils in a 1-1 draw with Blackpool.

The Bluebirds fell behind early courtesy of a close-range header from Blackpool captain Marvin Ekpiteta as the Seasiders had the better of the first half.

But Cardiff came back strongly after the break and hit back immediately through Bagan, whose excellent scoring streak continues.

Both sides had chances to win it and, all things considered, few could argue that a point apiece was unfair.

The wind swirled inside Cardiff City Stadium for the 3pm kick-off and it caused a whole manner of issues for both teams as they struggled to wrestle with the conditions.

The first indicator was when Cody Drameh appeared to have sent in a harmless cross, only for Daniel Grimshaw to start hastily back-peddling before tipping it over the bar.

And Mark McGuinness will no doubt cite the wind for missing his header at the other end of the pitch. Charlie Kirk sent in a lovely, volleyed cross and the Bluebirds centre-back misjudged his challenge as the ball sailed over his head and on to Ekpiteta, who cushioned his effort into the back of the net from point-blank range.

It was certainly coming, the visitors looked the more assured and more organised. They pressed and hounded the Bluebirds and looked the more likely to score.

The closest Cardiff came was when Drameh burst a lung to get down the right wing and sent a cross in, before Ekpiteta miscontrolled the ball and looked to have put it on a plate for Jordan Hugill, but the Seasiders captain made a last-ditch tackle to deny the Bluebirds a golden opportunity to level.

The wind aided Will Vaulks' long throws, too, with one of his efforts landing on Hugill's head
