Cardiff City 0-2 Leicester City: Foxes earn comfortable win as Bluebirds end year with defeat

Cardiff City were comfortably beaten by the far superior Leicester City, who extended their handsome lead at the top of the Championship with a 2-0 win in the Welsh capital.

Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall scored the opener before James Justin netted a sublime effort near the hour-mark to make sure of the win. They had other chances to extend their lead, twice hitting the post before the game was through.

But, in truth, it looked like an FA Cup tie for the Bluebirds against a Premier League opposition, which Leicester will be next August, of that there is little doubt.

It showed Cardiff just how far they still have to go before they are really challenging with the big dogs in this league. They will hope the January transfer window will represent an opportunity to close that gap, if only just a little bit.
