Carabao Cup third round draw LIVE Manchester United and Man City ball numbers and start time

Manchester United and Manchester City will feature in the third round draw of the Carabao Cup this evening.

The city's two Premier League clubs were granted byes to this stage of the competition thanks to their presence in the Champions League group stages. United and City will be joined in the hat by the other competing European teams; Arsenal, Newcastle United, Liverpool, West Ham United, Brighton and Hove Albion and Aston Villa.

Erik ten Hag's men enter the competition with fond memories from last season. Goals from Casemiro and Marcus Rashford secured the first major honour of the Dutchman's era at Old Trafford as Newcastle were defeated at Wembley.

Pep Guardiola's team have been a dominant force in the competition in recent seasons but last term they were knocked out by Southampton in the quarter-finals, meaning the trophy was the only one missing as they secured a historic treble.

Among the second round ties on Tuesday, Class of 92 owned Salford City will be in the hat after a thrilling penalty shootout victory over Leeds United but Tottenham Hotspur are out having been beaten by Fulham. They were the only top flight casualty on Tuesday.
