International break comes at best possible time for Manchester United and Erik ten Hag

With the International break starting four games into the Premier League season, usually, it would usually be a disruption for most managers.

But with Manchester United having a difficult start to the season, winning two of the four and coming off the back of the painful Arsenal defeat, the break could not have come at a better time for Erik ten Hag, especially with how they and the away fans went from celebration to misery within minutes from the offside call and defensive capitulation.

The Reds currently sit 11th, they will hope to use this period to rebuild confidence for supporters before their fixture against Brighton on September 16.

United has already suffered from a growing injury list, with players such as Raphael Varane, Luke Shaw, and Mason Mount, missing the Arsenal game. The United faithful will be hoping that both Varane and Mount will use this two-week break to come back into the squad fully-fit for the home fixture.

The 20-year-old forward looked promising in his second-half appearance against Arsenal and will be someone the manager hopes to utilise after the break with the £72million signing only making one appearance since signing joining from Atlanta.

Nonetheless, games against San Marino and Finland should allow the promising young striker to get back to match fitness.
