‘Can’t fault his effort’, ‘About time’ – Many West Brom fans react to departure of striker

West Brom fans have been reacting to the news that Jordan Hugill has been recalled from his loan spell by Norwich City. 

It won’t come as surprise to Baggies fans that Hugill is heading back to Norwich after his loan spell with West Brom was ended early.

The forward has only managed one goal in 20 appearances this season and has struggled to nail down a starting position as well as missing a number of big chances.

Hugill has only managed seven starts in those appearances and his goal came in a convincing 3-0 win over Bristol City in October.

It was reported earlier this week that Hugill could be heading to Cardiff City after the signings of Daryl Dike and Andy Carroll pushed the former West Ham striker further down the pecking order at the Hawthorns.

Despite Hugill’s struggles this season, he has shown in the past he is capable of performing at Championship level with good spells at Preston, QPR and Norwich where he played more a back up role.

Nonetheless, the departure has meant West Brom fans have been taking to social media to let their views be known. Here’s what they had to say.
