Cameron Carter-Vickers seals Celtic permanent transfer as centre-back pens four-year deal

Cameron Carter-Vickers has completed his permanent move to Celtic after signing a blockbusting four-year deal.

The US international was a top priority for Ange Postecoglou after an impressive season on loan at Parkhead

Record Sport revealed last month that the 24-year-old had agreed personal terms with the club leaving the Hoops to thrash out the mechanics of a deal with Spurs.

That will see an initial £6m fee shelled out, under the terms of the option which came with last summer’s loan agreement, which could rise to £10m with add-ons.

That could yet become a record transfer for the champions. But Postecoglou will feel it’s a price worth paying for a player who was a rock at the heart of defence as Celtic reclaimed the title from Rangers.

Carter-Vickers said: “I am so pleased to complete my move to Celtic and I really could not be happier.

“I have loved every minute of my time at Celtic so far and I really wanted to be part of the club’s future.

“We have a fantastic group of players at the club, we have a really good spirit and atmosphere among us and we all worked so hard together to deliver the league and League Cup success last season.
