Cambuslang Rangers will bounce back but we were out-spent, says boss

Cambuslang Rangers boss Paul McColl says his side will bounce back from West of Scotland First Division relegation, but they just couldn’t compete with big-spending rivals.

McColl says it was weird to be leaving the park to applause after their 3-3 draw at home to Petershill on Friday night, in a game he reckons they should have won.

But Maybole’s shock 1-0 win over champions Drumchapel United officially consigned Camby to next season’s Second Division.

Petershill took a 2-0 lead, only for Carlos Lang to peg it back to 2-2, and complete his hat-trick after Peasy had gone 3-2 ahead, but McColl says strike partner Godson Nechi should also have bagged a treble.

McColl will try to rebuild his team around that front pairing, and reckons if the teams from their last three games had started the season, they wouldn’t have been in trouble.

McColl said: “We’re down a division, we’ve been there before, and we’ll just keep fighting away.

“We’ll keep fighting away and we’ll try to get out of that league. That won’t be easy, because there are two decent teams going down with us, and others coming up.

“It’s disappointing to be down, you don’t want to be relegated at all. The team we’ve got just now, I think we would have stayed up with if we had started with that.

“The two up front, Carlos and Nechi, have scored eight goals in two games, so I’ll try to keep
