Cambuslang Rangers boss fumes as his side throws away two-goal lead

Cambuslang Rangers boss Paul McColl says his side were ‘cruising’ before throwing away a two-goal lead to lose 3-2 at Kilsyth Rangers.

Goals from Godson Nechi and Ryan Driver should have had the visitors on easy street in their West of Scotland Second Division clash, but Kilsyth staged a fight-back to take all three points on Saturday.

However, while McColl says his side’s second-half performance was poor, he also queried referee Barry Feery’s decisions.

McColl said: “That loss isn’t good, when you’re 2-0 up and cruising.

“The foul on Jordan is just stupid, it’s laughable and I don’t even know how to respond to it, because the ref doesn’t think it’s a foul.

“But we just stopped playing, their right-back ran 60 yards to score. He hits a shot, the keeper saves it, but our boy’s not tracking him and he scores the rebound to win the game with three minutes to go.

“We should never lost there, never in a million years, but you can’t play like that and expect to win games.

“We didn’t play that great in the second half, we need to play better than that to win games. We just didn’t do enough.”

Cambuslang are at home this Saturday against a St Anthony’s side that sit one place below them in sixth,
