Callum O’Hare from Coventry to Norwich City: What do we know so far? Is it likely to happen?

For Norwich City, it looks as though the summer transfer window will once again see them preparing for life in the Championship.

Following promotion from the second-tier last season, the Canaries now find themselves bottom of the Premier League table, seven points from safety with just six games left to play.

So with Dean Smith’s side likely to be building a squad with another Championship promotion push in mind, recent reports from Football Insider have claimed that Norwich will be targeting Coventry midfielder Callum O’Hare this summer.

O’Hare has enjoyed another impressive campaign for the Sky Blues this season, scoring five goals and providing seven assists in 42 league games for Mark Robins’ side.

As a result, the 23-year-old may be a useful addition for Norwich next season, especially given Billy Gilmour and Mathias Normann see their loans come to an end this summer, when Lukas Rupp is also out of contract at Carrow Road.

That could mean that Norwich do need to bring in extra midfield reinforcements such as O’Hare, although he may not be a cheap option for the Canaries.

It has been suggested that Coventry will demand £5million for the sale of O’Hare, and with the midfielder contracted to the club until the end of the 2023/24 season, they will be in a strong position to negotiate any offers that come for the midfielder.

Even so, given the funds that Norwich will have earned from their latest stint in the Premier League, as well as the parachute payments they will receive, they ought to have the funds available to afford this deal should they wish to do so, as recently relegated Premier League sides Fulham and Bournemouth have shown this season.
