'Give them a huge boost' - Journalist now hints 'special' player thinking about joining Rangers

Journalist Pete O’Rourke has claimed that Billy Gilmour may be thinking about a return to his boyhood club Rangers in the summer.

Billy Gilmour came through the Rangers academy before he made the switch to Premier League club Chelsea in 2017, and he went on to progress and make his league debut for the Blues in the 2019/20 campaign. Gilmour is currently on loan with already relegated Norwich City, where he has made 21 league appearances.

There have been reports stating that Gilmour is going to be sent out on loan again next season, and Rangers are one of the clubs he could join for the 2022/23 campaign.

With the reports stating that Gilmour could be set for another season on loan, Pete O’Rourke highlighted to GiveMeSport that Scottish Premiership side Rangers could be one of the clubs concerned in him ahead of next season.

“I think a move to Rangers might be something that will be on his mind. I think he’s a boyhood Rangers fan as well, so if Rangers were able to pull off that deal, it would give them a huge boost going into next season,” O’Rourke said.

Billy Gilmour has been on loan this season with Norwich who have struggled and sit rock bottom of the Premier League table.
