Cadwell BSB: Kennedy exerts dominance for seventh successive pole

Mar-Train Yamaha’s Jack Kennedy continued to exert dominance over his British Supersport rivals as he maintained his impeccable qualifying record for the 2022 season with a seventh consecutive pole position at Cadwell Park on Sunday.

In a year that has seen Kennedy crush the opposition with wins in all-but-two of this season’s twelve races, the reigning champion was once again in fine form over a single lap at Cadwell Park, dipping beneath the lap record with a 1’28.628 effort at the mid-way point.

That was enough to put the Irishman seven tenths clear of Harry Truelove, who slotted into second aboard the Appleyard Macadam Yamaha, with teammate Bradley Perie making it an all-R6 front row in third.

Rhys Irwin put himself in a good position to better his season’s best result of sixth by placing his Astro JJR Triumph in fourth place, while Jack Scott - who beat Kennedy to victory on the road at Thruxton - was again the class of the GP2 entries in fifth place.

Ash Barnes gets underway from sixth place ahead of top Kawasaki rider Eugene McManus on the Affinity bike in seventh and Luke Stapleford in eighth on the Gearlink Kawasaki.

Dutch MPM Routz Yamaha rider Jamie van Sikkelerus gets underway from ninth, with Scott Swann on the second of the Gearlink Kawasaki entries rounding out the top ten.
