Burnley striker talks Portugal training camp & preparations for Huddersfield Town opener

Jay Rodriguez feels Burnley's Portugal training camp has helped them prepare well for the upcoming season and are ready for the Championship opener against Huddersfield Town.

The Clarets are poised to embark upon their first campaign back in the second tier of English football since 2016. The club was relegated from the Premier League last season after six years in the top flight.

The Turf Moor outfit have Vincent Kompany now at the helm as they aim to return to the top tier at the first time of asking. They begin their campaign on the road to Huddersfield next Friday at the John Smith's Stadium.

"It's been really good so far, it's always good to get away somewhere different, different facilities, different weather, it's been nice.

"Training has been tough, but we have enjoyed it. The lads have worked hard and we have a couple more days to go now to continue that.

"I think getting away from the training ground together is good, we spend a lot more time together
