Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag will have been delighted to see Rasmus Hojlund get on the scoresheet on Sunday afternoon.

As certifiable as it sounds, there would be method in the madness of going for Dominic Calvert-Lewin. He is 26, experienced in the Premier League, out of contract next year and would have the hunger to vie for his place with Hojlund.
United invested an exorbitant amount to buy Hojlund but have to champion him, so the next striker they recruit could be one to keep him on his toes. There are bright red flags, of course with Calvert-Lewin: he has missed 53 games in the last 18 months through injury and only scored 11 goals since May 2021.
