Bullish Dundee hero tells Rangers their pitch gripes 'don't stack up' as real villain's unmasked

Former Dundee hero Lee Wilkie has leapt to the defence of his former side amid escalating temperatures over the Rangers clash call-off.

The bullish Dens Park legend claims Philippe Clement's problem does not lie with the communication coming from the Tayside club – but with the timing of the decision to postponed the game from referee Don Robertson. This comes amid Dundee chief John Nelms stating they had asked league bosses for more time to get the pitch ready and would have got the game on later in the day.

Those claims didn't spare Dee from the ire of Clement who claimed it was the Ibrox kitman who was first to let Rangers know that the game was in danger of being called off. The Belgian boss went on to warn the SPFL over the standard of the surface.

"Meanwhile, I didn’t buy what Rangers were saying about a lack of communication from Dundee. I don’t see what difference it would’ve made to their plans.

"The game wasn’t called off
