Bruno Lage outlines 'very hard' challenge and what Wolves must do to reach Europa League
Bruno Lage admits every team in the Premier League is ‘counting points’ at this stage as Wolverhampton Wanderers chase down a European spot.
Wolves’ 2-1 win over Aston Villa on Saturday kept them in the hunt for a top six spot. Lage believes a top four place is now beyond Wolves, but just two points separate the Molineux men and sixth-placed West Ham.
There are seven games to go in the Premier League and Wolves might need as many as five more victories to finish sixth - a position which usually secures Europa League qualification. Wolves, who have taken nine points from the last 12 on offer, now travel to Newcastle United on Friday evening.

“There are seven games to go and everyone is counting points,” says Lage, who will eclipse Nuno Espirito Santo’s best-ever Premier League points haul if Wolves reach a total of 60. “The big teams are counting points to win the league, the other teams are counting points to go to the Champions League, some teams are counting points for Europa League, and some teams are counting points to continue in the Premier League.”
Lage has openly
