"I would be absolutely amazed" - Journalist drops big Wolves claim after shock report emerges

It would be a massive surprise if Wolves consider selling Conor Coady this summer, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The £22.5m-rated centre back has been a key part of Wolves’ success in recent years but has been linked with a shock move away from Molineux.

Last summer, Tottenham, who had just appointed ex-Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo as manager, had opened preliminary talks with the England defender, although nothing materialised, and he ended up staying in the Midlands.

However, TEAMtalk believe that Everton, who were also linked with Coady when Nuno was being touted as a potential replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, remain keen on the 29-year-old.

But the 311-game ace only signed a new deal at Wolves in September 2020 and has more than three years left on that contract. Therefore, the report has described any possible deal as ‘difficult’ and Jones would be “absolutely amazed” if he was sold.

He told GIVEMESPORT: “He’s the guy that has held them up and got them through tough moments on and off the pitch, he’s so valuable to them, so I would be absolutely amazed if they even consider selling him in the summer.”

Not only is Coady enjoying his most prolific goalscoring campaign as a Wolves player, netting three
