Bruno Fernandes sends message to ex-Manchester United teammate as squad problem identified

Bruno Fernandes says it was "good to see" former Manchester United teammate Martin Dubravka after the pair faced off on international duty earlier this week.

Fernandes netted the winning goal on Friday evening as Portugal beat Slovakia 1-0 in Bratislava, slaloming through opposition defenders before arrowing an effort past Dubravka. His strike continued a perfect qualification campaign for Roberto Martinez's side who now have 15 points from five matches.

Dubravka had a night to forget after he was accidentally kicked in the head by another former Reds teammate, Cristiano Ronaldo. The 38-year-old was stretching for a loose ball and saw his boot catch the goalkeeper across the face - he was booked for his troubles.

Dubravka enjoyed reuniting with old teammates and posted two pictures on his Instagram alongside Fernandes and Ronaldo. He wrote: "Nice to see a good old friends".

Former Arsenal and England defender Martin Keown believes Harry Maguire has become a scapegoat at Manchester United - pointing to midfield as the heart of the issue.
