Broken foot doesn't stop Law and District Boston Marathon runner in fine month for the club
April was a busy month for Law and District AAC athletes at home and abroad – and senior star Lesley Graham didn’t let a broken foot get in her way at the Boston Marathon.
Senior athletes took part in marathons in London, Manchester, Rotterdam and Boston, and also competed in the Round the Houses 10k at Grangemouth.
But one athlete went the ‘extra-mile’ in the US, as brave Lesley Graham completed her second major marathon in 3hrs 35mins, despite breaking her foot after 16km!
Ross MacDonald shaved nine minutes off his personal best to finish the Manchester Marathon in 2.34:29, in 20th place overall.
Coaching assistant Grant Kerr also completed the Manchester marathon, his fourth at that distance.
Martin Kay finished his 19th marathon in Rotterdam in a time of 4.01:26.
Emily McNicol was second female at the Round the Houses 10k in Grangemouth in 36mins 20secs, which saw her finish second in the Scottish Students Championship category.
Alexander Wotherspoon, 12, won the P7 race at the Scottish Primary School Cross Country Championships.
P6 girls Helena Wotherspoon (11th), Allyssa Bennet (12th) and Layla Kirk (47th); P6 boy Christopher Traynor (14th), P7 boys Ben Wilson (33rd) and Harrison Hamilton (69th) and P7 girl Lucia Daye (25th) also took part.
Emily McNicol represented Glasgow University at the Scottish Students Track and Field Championships in Grangemouth, where she won gold in 1500m.
Leah Keisler, representing Edinburgh University, won silver in 800m.
Representing Glasgow University, Oscar Logan finished fourth in 800m and won silver in 4x400m relay.
Matthew Gillon, representing West of Scotland University, also competed in 400m.
McNicol was then fourth woman to finish the Fast N Flat 5k road race in Linlithgow,
