Bristol Airport sees dozens of flights grounded after serious road crash - live updates
Dozens of flights have been delayed at Bristol Airport after the main route to the terminal was closed after a crash. There are 29 flights scheduled to depart from Bristol Airport between 6am and 8am this morning. According to a statement from the airport they have decided to delay any flights before 8am because passengers and staff are having trouble reaching the airport.
In a statement a Bristol Airport spokesman said: "Flights will not take off from Bristol Airport this morning until 8am. We’ve made this decision because the A38 is closed between the two airport roundabouts following a serious road traffic collision, causing delays to passengers, staff, and our own shuttle buses.
"Passengers flying this morning are advised to leave extra time to travel to the airport and check their flight details with their airline. The latest information on departures will be available on our website.”

Avon and Somerset Police have said that the road was closed between the two airport roundabouts shortly after 1am on Saturday, October 28. Despite being across the bridge, Bristol Airport is commonly used by flyers across South Wales for both business and pleasure travel. It is normally just over an hour drive but the closure of the main arterial route into the airport is adding significantly to that.
