'Brilliant news' - Presenter buzzing over Leicester star's tweet

Broadcaster Faye Carruthers was delighted by the news that Leicester City defender James Justin has received his first England call-up.

The Three Lions will play four fixtures over the next few weeks – two matches against Hungary and games versus Germany and Italy await in the UEFA Nations League. 27 players were called up for the camp, and Justin was included among the names for the first time.

Writing on Twitter following the confirmation of the news, Carruthers expressed her happiness. She said, “Brilliant news.”

TIF Thoughts on Justin

A ruptured cruciate ligament kept £15.3m-valued Justin out for a significant portion of the campaign but, once he recovered, he went straight into Brendan Rodgers’ plans. Despite not making a single appearance before the New Year, he ended up with 20 outings in all competitions, including 13 in the Premier League.

His versatility is the biggest reason why he has been called up to the squad. With Luke Shaw and Ben Chilwell currently unavailable through injury or having only recently recovered, Justin will likely line up at left-back, with him able to play both in that role and on the opposite flank. He has previously featured for the U21s, and this is now his chance to take advantage of the opportunity that has been given to him.
