Brighton ace Danny Welbeck vows to 'put things right' against Manchester United after FA Cup exit

Brighton & Hove Albion striker Danny Welbeck has insisted the Seagulls will "try to put things right" against Manchester United after losing to the Reds in the FA Cup semi-final.

Erik ten Hag's side won 7-6 on penalties at Wembley last month, with all seven penalty-takers scoring for the Reds in the shootout. Victor Lindelof bagged the winning penalty after Brighton ace Solly March saw his spot-kick fly high over David de Gea's crossbar.

"I am looking forward to Thursday. They have got some amazing players, so you’ve got to be ready at all times when you play them," he told club media. "We will prepare the same way and we’ll try and put things right in front of our fans."

Meanwhile, Billy Gilmour - who made just his 11th appearance for Brighton at the weekend - admitted Roberto De Zerbi's men were aiming to get payback on United following the penalty shootout loss at Wembley.

He said: "It will be a tough game, of course. United are a top team. What happened at Wembley, we will want to have that
