Brendan Rodgers sets Celtic targets as lofty Champions League ambition added to clean sweep fans demand
Brendan Rodgers will hit his players with a list of targets for the new campaign - starting with a domestic treble and a place in the play-off rounds of the new look Champions League.
The Celtic boss intends to address his squad at Lennoxtown on the eve of their league opener against Kilmarnock tomorrow to spell out his demands and expectations for the season ahead. And Rodgers made it clear that he plans to back up a league title and Scottish Cup from his first season back in charge with a clean sweep in his second. He said: “That’s something that we’ll speak about before Sunday’s game. That’s part of my presentation tomorrow.

In the Champions League, we want to qualify for the playoffs by the end of January. And then there’ll be other little targets that we’ll speak with players individually on in terms of their own personal targets and where they can get to and how they can improve.”

“It’s natural that others can think that you could just keep on winning but absolutely no chance. We’re measured on our own standard and our standards are domestically really strong.
That’s the bread and butter. So you have to continue with that and you can’t not just think that it won’t
