Brendan Rodgers in furious Ralph Hasenhuttl exchange as former Celtic boss slammed for lack of sportsmanship

Brendan Rodgers issued a spiky response to Southampton manager Ralph Hasenhuttl after Leicester were accused of lacking sportsmanship in their 4-1 win.

There was little on the line in the final day encounter at the King Power Stadium but there was some needle between the teams after a bizarre drop ball decision.

Referee Jon Moss stopped play for an injury while Southampton were on the ball but accidentally gave possession to Leicester on the restart.

James Maddison scored immediately after and Saints boss Hasenhuttl was left furious, revealing after the game he had asked Rodgers to let his team score an equaliser in the name of sportsmanship

He said: “I don’t want to speak about the performance but the decision was hard to understand.

“It changed the momentum and the first goal was the decisive moment. It is not acceptable and there was an offer from my side to let us go and score 1-1.
