Brendan Rodgers 'hurting' amid Celtic spiral as Jackie McNamara spots worrying sign in Motherwell win

Brendan Rodgers is hurting right now no matter what he says - but the Celtic boss needs to find the answers fast.

That's the view of former Hoops defender Jackie McNamara who reckons opposing Premiership teams have the champions sussed. Celtic beat Motherwell at the weekend to ease the pressure on Rodgers but made heavy weather of it, needing goals deep into stoppage time from Adam Idah and Luis Palma to seal a dramatic comeback win.

It came a week after dropping points against Kilmarnock and Rodgers, whose team trail Rangers by two points in the title race, has plenty of work to do to win over worried punters. Fans let him hear it after that draw at home to Killie and Jackie Mac reckons he'll have taken disparaging comments from the terraces to heart, even if he publicly insists all is rosey.

McNamara also reckons opposition sides have Rodgers' predictable setup figured out - and challenged the boss to mix it up to reignite their title challenge. He told the BBC: "Brendan will be hurting after certain comments last week. The fans weren't happy after the (Kilmarnock) game. They haven't been convincing, no matter how you dress it up. He's had injuries to deal with but so have a lot of other teams.

"They haven't been the same team, there's no doubt about that. Everything they're doing is a lot more possession-based, it's a different setup. Teams have caught onto that so they need to find ways of getting in behind quicker.

"The system doesn't seem to change a lot during the games, maybe just the personnel. But they need to do things so much quicker to cause teams problems.
