Brendan Rodgers has no Matt O'Riley Celtic transfer fears over Inter link as he insists plans haven't changed

Brendan Rodgers has no fears over Matt O'Riley being linked with a transfer to Inter Milan.

Sky Sports Italia claim that the Nerazzuri want to sign the Celtic star, but on LOAN first with an obligation to buy in the summer. Thats unlikely to get a positive response from Rodgers or the Hoops hierarchy given O'Riley is one of their top men and most sellable assets. The Parkhead boss admits interest will be inevitable when you're playing as well as O'Riley has been this season, but insists he's comfortable with the situation and isn't worrying about an imminent exit.

"I don't have any fears over any of the players," he said. "I'm delighted for Matt, he's made a fantastic step forward this season as a Celtic player and in his career. That shows the focus and mentality from training he's taking into games. He will always attract the interest of teams. But I do';t have any fear, he's a good guy who works very, very hard. He added: "No, I've been very clear from when I came in for me, it was about observation for this opening period. Sadly we've had players missing which has been a challenge but that's provided opportunity for other players.

"Across the board, it's been a chance for me assess where the squad is at, but the feelings haven't changed in the last week or so. I know where we needed to strengthen in the summer and I know where we need to strengthen in January and next summer.

"It was clearly a very disappointing performance and result for us. But it's really about reinforcing the strengths
