Brendan Rodgers gets Celtic fans to give Neil Lennon a rousing roar amid emotional embrace

Jubilant Brendan Rodgers grabbed hold of compatriot Neil Lennon - before the two decorated Celtic managers earned a rock-star applause from delighted supporters.

The beaming Hoops boss gave Lennon – on the verge of a money–spinning move to Rapid Bucharest – a big hug before pointing to fans to give him a hail in the aftermath of securing a third consecutive Premiership title. And he turned Lennon towards the away fans and gestured for them to make plenty of noise. It was a poignant moment for the former Celtic captain who copped plenty of flak over the misfiring pursuit of 10-in-a-row - a season which Rangers romped to the title by 25 points.

The pair – who have won eight Premiership title between them – enjoy a strong bond and it was Lennon who filled the breach when Rodgers departed for Leicester City back in 2019. And the pair soaked in the emotions of a monumental evening as Celtic, for the 12th time in 13 seasons, were once again crowned the best team in Scotland.

Speaking to Sky Sports, Rodgers - after a few technical problems with his mic - said: "There's been so much to manage. Not coaching-wise, that's never a problem. But tedious stuff, a couple of words that blow up. But it's been a big learning season.

"I didn't forget, I know what it's like (in Scotland). That's why I came back! It's been an amazing season. The players have delivered when the pressure has been on."
