Witnesses are reporting Manchester Arndale has been evacuated this afternoon with firefighters seen inside the markets. Shoppers and staff were told the leave the Manchester city centre mall around 4pm.

"It appears to have been extinguished now, because you can see them mopping up the water. There's lots of people milling about outside.
"I don't know if the whole centre's been evacuated, but it looks like it has because they have kicked people out of the Market Street entrance as well."
The Arndale and Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service have been contacted for a comment.
