Man United great David Beckham gets Luis Suarez message after Lionel Messi transfer request

Former Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has sent Inter Miami owner and Manchester United legend David Beckham a clear message with his heroics for Brazilian Serie A side Gremio.

Having already signed ex-Barcelona trio Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba for free over the summer, Beckham's side were linked with 37-year-old Suarez, who had just signed a two-year deal with Gremio. It was then reported by ESPN that the star would sign a deal with the MLS franchise at the end of 2023 in order to reunite with his former teammates.

Under Argentinian coach Gerardo Martino, World Cup winner Messi and company were able to win the Leagues Cup - the first title in the club's history - but were unable to turn around their MLS campaign having finished 27th out of a possible 29 teams over both conferences.

Messi's Miami contract pulled in headlines with its enormous set of bonuses and deals added into it, reported to be worth "up to $150 million (£122m) total from his salary, signing bonus, and equity in the team" according to Sportico. In addition to that, the star also received revenue-splits with Apple TV with their licence to show MLS games as well as with Adidas.

However, since his arrival, the level of the team has clearly not been up to his usual standard, with many believing that the moves for Busquets and Alba have been part of an appeasement process with the legendary player, with Suarez potentially being a similar move.
