BREAKING: Long delays as two lanes shut on M60 after 'multi-vehicle' crash - latest updates
Drivers are facing queues ahead of rush hour following a crash on the M60. Two lanes of traffic are currently closed on the clockwise carriageway between junction 16 for Pendlebury and 17 for Prestwich and Whitefield.
Motorists are faced with delays of around 20 minutes through the area. A spokesperson for National Highways North West wrote on Twitter: "Lanes three and four are CLOSED on the M60 clockwise between J16 and J17 due to a multi vehicle collision.
"Police and National Highways Traffic Officers are in attendance. There are currently delays of 20 mins and approx three miles of congestion."

The crash involves a car and a van, according to the Inrix traffic monitoring system. It was first reported at around 4.20pm, Inrix says.
Further details about the incident are yet to be confirmed. Police have been approached for comment.
