BREAKING: A6 Stockport Rd closed after two Audi crash - latest updates

The A6 Stockport Rd in Longsight, Manchester, is closed this morning after a crash involving two cars.

Police, fire crews and the ambulance service all attended the scene. Witnesses at the scene have said they didn't think anyone had suffered serious or life changing injuries, but this has not yet been confirmed by official sources.

Two black Audi motorcars were involved in the collision, at the junction of A6 Stockport Road and Stanley Grove. One of the vehicles involved has ended up upside down, on its roof, in the middle of the road. The road is reportedly shut on all four approaches. Police have urged the public to avoid the area.

Roads and traffic monitoring service Inrix reports:

A6 Stockport Road in both directions closed due to overturned car from A5079 Slade Lane to A6010 Dickenson Road.The road has been closed since the early hours of Wednesday morning.

In a tweet, Longsight & Moss Side Police said:

Due to a Road Traffic Incident Stockport Road (A6) is currently closed from the junction of Dickenson Road / Stanley Grove until it’s junction with Slade Lane. Please avoid the area.
