Bolton Wanderers team selection decisions for Crewe clash outlined & Dion Charles verdict given

Ian Evatt is aiming for Bolton Wanderers to 'stop the rot' when they take on Crewe Alex this evening after three losses in the space of a week.

Wanderers have tasted defeat three times in the space of eight days. A 2-0 loss at the hands of Sheffield Wednesday in League One was followed up by bowing out of the Carabao Cup following a 4-1 defeat versus Premier League side Aston Villa.

Over the weekend, Bolton lost 2-0 on the road against Plymouth Argyle. Goals from Niall Ennis and Ryan Hardie made Wanderers pay for not taking chances or defending key moments well enough in their own box.

Evatt is hoping Wanderers can stop the rot against Crewe this evening as they embark upon the start of their Papa John's Trophy campaign. Three Bolton players could be in line for their first games of the season.

Summer signing Eoin Toal is yet to make his Bolton debut due to a combination of a minor injury and also getting used to playing and training at Wanderers following his move from Derry City. There is a chance he could feature at some stage this evening.

Long term absentees Josh Sheehan and Lloyd Isgrove are also both poised to play a part. The duo have been out since last November with ACL and hamstring injuries respectively.

The pair have played for the club's B team in recent weeks to get minutes in their legs. Evatt believes striker Dion Charles who has recently returned from a short lay-off will also benefit from more game time after showing glimpses of what he can do against Argyle.
