Ian Evatt's Bolton Wanderers transfer deadline day admission & Owen Beck Liverpool deal explained

Ian Evatt admits transfer deadline day was still a busy one with Bolton Wanderers being offered players but vowed he is more than happy with the squad he has at his disposal.

Evatt's side made no more acquisitions on transfer deadline day last Thursday. This was despite the intention of further reinforcements being made, but none came to fruition for Wanderers.

This was Evatt's third summer transfer window in which he has been in charge of the Whites. It proved to be the one with the fewest signings he has made in his time in the dugout at the University of Bolton Stadium.

A total of five players arrived over the summer. Jack Iredale and Eoin Toal arrived on permanent deals from Cambridge United and Derry City respectively.

Three loan deals were also completed. James Trafford has returned from Manchester City for the season, while Conor Bradley has signed up for the campaign from Liverpool.

A third and final loan was wrapped up on the penultimate day of the window. Left-back Owen Beck became the second Liverpool youngster to join Bolton for the season.

Most of Bolton's business was done early, with only Toal and later Beck arriving after the start of pre-season fixtures. Evatt explained Beck was not available at the start as he headed out to Portuguese top flight side Familicao for a loan spell which ultimately did not go to plan.
