Bolton Wanderers play-off chances after Wigan Athletic draw rated by Ian Evatt ahead of Portsmouth

Ian Evatt admits he does not know if Bolton Wanderers' chances of reaching the play-offs is over or not but vowed his team will fight to the end and that the performance and point against Wigan Athletic shows they can compete against League One's best now.

Wanderers came from behind to collect a share of the spoils yesterday against the Latics in the lunchtime kick-off at the DW Stadium.

James McClean put the Latics in front early in the first half as his cross found its way all the way through to give the hosts an early lead.

Leam Richardson's side dominated much of the first half but a big moment came before half-time when referee Samuel Barrott refrained from showing McClean a second yellow card following a foul on Dapo Afolayan, for whom he had fouled for his opening booking earlier in the game.

Wanderers were the better team after the break and got a deserved equaliser when Bodvarsson rose to nod home Will Aimson's cross and give Wanderers a share of the spoils.

Bolton now have six games left to go of their season and sit 11 points from the play-offs as the season nears its climax.

Up next are clashes versus fellow top six hopefuls Portsmouth and Sheffield Wednesday in the next week.

But Evatt believes his side have shown with the draw at the DW Stadium that his side can now compete against the best in League One, and are a totally different proposition earlier on this season.
