Bolton Wanderers lineup and result against Huddersfield Town as Finlay Lockett makes return

Bolton Wanderers reserves suffered a 1-0 loss at the hands of Huddersfield Town but promising forward Finlay Lockett made a long awaited return from injury.

Connor Shanks put the Yorkshire side ahead at Lostock early on as Wanderers trailed at the break following a first half with few clear chances for either side.

Shanks raced clear of the Bolton rearguard and fired past Luke Hutchinson to give the Terriers and early advantage, despite suggestions of offside.

The visitors had the greater share of the possession in the first 45 minutes, as Wanderers improved as half-time approached, but in truth neither side could muster many clear opportunities.

In the second half, Hutchinson produced a great stop not long after the restart to stop Sam Peplow's free-kick in a good central position.

Lockett returned from a long ACL injury lay-off with half an hour or so to go as he replaced Danny Jones.

Myles Bright struck the post as the Terriers went close to adding a second in the closing stages but the woodwork came to Bolton's aid.

Lockett crossed late on but none of his team mates could be found, while Hutchinson palmed a powerful effort from Donay O'Brien-Brady over not long afterwards as the Terriers emerged victorious.
