Ajax star Antony's verdict on playing under Erik ten Hag amid Manchester United transfer links

Ajax winger Antony has made no secret about his admiration for Erik ten Hag amid reports that they could both be swapping the Johan Cruyff Arena for Manchester United this summer.

Ten Hag, as revealed by the Manchester Evening News earlier this month, is United's preferred candidate to become their next permanent manager and has been interviewed for the role. Further talks are expected to take place between the club and the Dutchman, who is now the firm favourite to succeed Ralf Rangnick.

The 52-year-old, who took charge at Ajax in 2017, has been lauded for his job in Amsterdam. He has developed a number of youngsters and worked both efficiently and shrewdly in the transfer market, often finding hidden gems that have overperformed.

That includes Brazilian star Antony. Ajax poached the skilful winger from Sao Paulo in 2020 and he has enjoyed a rapid development under the Dutchman, scoring 22 goals and grabbing 20 assists in all competitions in 79 matches.

Now, according to a report by The Telegraph, Ten Hag, should he be appointed as United's new manager, is set to be interested in signing the 22-year-old and bringing him with him. Antony is attracting admirers with his recent performances for the Dutch giants.
