Bolton Wanderers' hectic October fixture list assessed as League One starts to take shape

Bolton Wanderers had a positive September as they remained unbeaten in 90 minutes thoughout the month and moved up into the top six in League One.

After returning to action this weekend, Wanderers face the prospect of eight games throughout the course of October. It could be the month where Wanderers truly cement their place in the top six.

The Whites face an extremely busy October. They will play eight matches next month, including a Papa John's Trophy tie against Leeds United's under-21s.

Lincoln City (H) - October 1

Wanderers return to action in League One against the Imps. The Sincil Bank outfit finished last season in 17th and Michael Appleton departed the club.

Now under Mark Kennedy, the Imps have won their last two games to help bring them to midtable. Won 6-3 last time on the road against Bristol Rovers, so Wanderers will have to be wary of the goal threat they can possess, but will be hopeful of making it four wins on the spin.

Cheltenham Town (A) - October 4

A side Wanderers have played in both League Two and League One in recent seasons, the Robins are sitting just above the drop zone at present. Cheltenham are under Wade Elliott after Michael Duff departed to take over at Barnsley.
