Bolton pub given bright makeover in £150k revamp featuring street art mural and huge TV screens

A year ago, it’s likely that most people would have driven or walked past The Grey Man pub in Daisy Hill without as much as a second glance. Now, that is almost impossible to imagine.

The pub, located on Hindley Road in Westhoughton on the outskirts of Bolton, has recently undergone a huge £150,000 renovation that has seen it stripped of its outdated decor and given a bright and bold makeover both inside and out.

Now operated by Blind Tiger Inn and Star Pubs, which marks their 19th venue together, the pub aims to become a premium spot for locals to enjoy sports on a range of HD screens as well as live entertainment on a new stage area.

The pub’s three-week refurbishment also sees a revamp of the exterior featuring an exposed brick wall alongside a huge mural created by local street artist Jano.

There is also a new patio area with bench-style tables and chairs, a picket fence and festoon lighting, alongside a children’s play area.

Inside, the complete overhaul sees the venue opened up to create a brighter, more spacious environment with new lighting and signage, as well as high and medium-height chairs and tables alongside semi-circular velvet covered booth seating.

The pub features eight HD tv screens, with TNT, Sky and Amazon TV subscriptions ready to host all major sporting occasions throughout the week. There is also a contactless payment pool table and upgraded darts area with new boards.

The Grey Man will serve a range of draught and bottled beers, as well as a large wine menu and an extensive range of gins. Throughout the week, it will feature daytime draught discounts and other specials.
