Bojan Miovski in Aberdeen 'number one striker' pledge as he vows to bring European nights back to Pittodrie

New Aberdeen striker Bojan Miovski insists he’ll score the goals to fire the club back into Europe. The North Macedonian forward has penned a four-year deal at Pittodrie after the Dons swooped to sign him from MTK Budapest.

The 23-year-old met his new team-mates at Aberdeen’s pre-season training camp in Spain on Tuesday. He took part in his first training session under Jim Goodwin on Wednesday and is now looking forward to getting stuck in when the competitive action starts.

He said: "Every striker wants to be number one and of course I want to be number one striker here but first I have to help the team hit targets and I know the target is to be in the top three. If I score a lot of goals I think I will help the club reach the target. I don’t follow Scottish football but I know it’s very hard physically and at a good tempo.

"I think I can improve a lot by coming here. I think I will fit in, if I didn’t think like that I wouldn’t have come.”

Miovski has 10 caps for his country and Aberdeen beat competition from a host of clubs across the continent to his signature. He said: “It is a big pleasure to play for Macedonia, every young player’s dream is to play and show for the national team.

“I think I have done well until now and I hope to keep doing that. I started playing Futsal when I was fourteen or fifteen years of age, then I started playing normal football.

“Everything started in the academy in my city, I grew up there and stayed one and a half years in Macedonia. Then I moved to Hungary and had a perfect two years there.”
