Ylber Ramadani's Aberdeen waiting game woe revealed as Bojan Miovski faces own visa red tape

Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin is hopeful that Ylber Ramadani can finally meet his new teammates in the coming week - as a wait for Bojan Miovski's visa begins.

The Dons have been out in Spain over the last few days as part of their preparations for the new Premiership campaign. Goodwin's first full season in charge at Pittodrie begins next weekend in the Premier Sports Cup against Peterhead and he has bolstered his ranks with the likes of goalkeeper Kelle Roos plus defenders Liam Scales and Anthony Stewart.

Defensive midfielder Ramadani has signed from MTK Budapest while North Macedonian international striker Miovski also joins after a stint at the Hungarian club. He was present at the club's Spanish training camp - which included a 1-1 friendly draw against St Johnstone - but can't come back to the UK while his visa process is sorted. It's been a problem also for his teammate.

The Albanian international is expected to link up with Aberdeen this week after missing the trip abroad. Unexpected issues arose including a passport delay but Ramadani's visa has been sorted. Now it's hoped similar issues don't lie in wait for their new striker. League business gets underway later this month at Celtic.

Goodwin told Red TV: “Ylber Ramadani’s visa has been approved, but getting his hands on his visa and passport has been extremely lengthy. We hadn’t anticipated that to be honest.

“We are confident we’ll get Ramadani to Aberdeen at the early part of the week so he can play a part in the friendly (against Brechin) in midweek. We can advise players, but they are not getting used to being with their team-mates when they are on their own and that’s the bit we will have to get him caught up on quickly.
