Body found in search for missing 26-year-old from Stockport

A body has been found in the search for a missing 26-year-old from Stockport. The man, named only as Charlie, was last seen in the Cheadle Hulme area at 11.30pm on Thursday.

Last week police appealed for the public's help to find him, saying they wanted to make sure he was 'safe and well'.

But today Greater Manchester Police said a body had been found during the search. Charlie's next of kin have been made aware and a file has been passed to the coroner.

No further details have been released at this stage.

Det Insp Michael Jimenez, from Greater Manchester Police, said: "Our thoughts remain with Charlie's family at this difficult time, and we have specialist officers in place to support them. Thank you to those who shared our appeals."
