Body found as police close off road in major ongoing incident
A huge road closure is in place on a main road in Bury amid an ongoing incident. Police and paramedics have taped off Longsight Road in the Greenmount area this evening.
Multiple police vehicles and vans are at the scene with officers seen within the cordon. Efforts are being focussed on an area near to the Holcombe sports and tennis club.
Fire crews are also in attendance, with a cordon stretching from the Esso Garage to the junction with Brandlesholme Road.
Greater Manchester Police have been contacted for a full statement.

The latest update on the closure from live AA maps reads: "Road closed due to police incident on B6214 Longsight Road both ways from B6215 Brandlesholme Road to Vernon Road."
The main road remains closed this evening.
Forensics and CSI teams were called to Longsight Road earlier this afternoon.
Investigations remain ongoing at the scene following reports a body was recovered in a nearby embankment.
A local councillor has commented on the incident on social media urging people to stay away from the area and 'avoid online speculation'.
Councillor John Southworth, Coun for North Manor ward, said in a comment: "Can I respectfully request that people stay away from the scene, let our emergency services do their job and avoid online speculation."
