Blackburn Rovers eyeing temporary transfer agreement with Brentford

Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing Brentford midfielder Mads Bidstrup on loan, a report from The Daily Mail has claimed.

Having joined Brentford from Red Bull Leipzig in the summer of 2020, Bidstrup has struggled for opportunities with the Bees since his move to England.

The 20-year-old has made just 14 appearances across all competitions for Thomas Frank’s side, in his year-and-a-half at the club.

As a result, it seems as though the midfielder could soon be on the move again, in search of more regular first-team football.

According to this latest update, Blackburn are now interested in signing Bidstrup on loan, as they look to boost their squad to aid their push for promotion in the next few months.

Rovers are currently second in the Championship table, three points adrift of league leaders Fulham, ahead of their trip to Kenilworth Road to face Luton Town on Saturday afternoon.

There are 18 months remaining on Bidstrup’s contract with Brentford, securing his future with the Bees until the end of next season.

The Verdict

This does look as though it could be a rather useful signing for Blackburn you feel.

Having seen Leighton Clarkson recalled from his loan spell by Liverpool earlier this month, it does seem as though Rovers could benefit from some extra reinforcements in midfield.

Bidstrup would of course offer them that, and having struggled for game time at Brentford, he could feel as though he has a point to prove with a move such as this.

However, with Blackburn’s midfield performing as well as it is right now, the 20-year-old would still face something of a challenge to force his way into Tony Mowbray’s starting lineup at Ewood Park.
