Billy Gilmour told Celtic is perfect next transfer amid withering Rangers claim over style of play

Billy Gilmour has been touted for a move away from Brighton & Hove Albion and Celtic would be an ideal location for him, according to a former English Premier League winner.

The former Rangers and Chelsea player has struggled for game time since moving to the south coast, however put in an eye-catching display in Brighton's 1-0 win over Manchester United last week. Former Fulham and Man United full-back Paul Parker believes the Scotland international needs to move away from Roberto De Zerbi's side in order to get more game time. Parker thinks he is capable of still playing in the Premier League but wouldn't rule out a move to Ange Postecoglou's side due to Gilmour's style of play.

Gilmour moved to the Amex Stadium last September in a £9million move when Graham Potter was still in charge at the seagulls. Since moving down south to England Gilmour has won 16 caps for Steve Clarke's Scotland side.

Parker told SpilXperten that a move back to Ibrox should be out the question due to the style of play he believes Michael Beale implements.

He added: "Of course, he needs to move away. I think he is able to play in the Premier League but a move to Scotland wouldn't surprise me. Probably Celtic would be the best fit for him as Rangers doesn't play the football that suits him very well."
