'Big money' - Gold claims Spurs eyeing raid for one of 'most important players' at major club

Tottenham Hotspur are going into the summer transfer window with Gabriel Jesus on their radar as a potential option to bolster their squad. 

This is what Spurs correspondent Alasdair Gold has said on his YouTube channel as the north London now turns their attention to the upcoming transfer market.

Reports suggest Conte has already made his main areas of improvement known with a new backup striker being one of his priorities to relieve some of the pressure off Kane.

Spurs have played all of the 2021/22 campaign with just one recognised senior striker in Kane, with the only other striker in the squad to feature being the 18-year-old Dane Scarlett.

According to Gold, Spurs are going into the summer window with a list of strikers on their radar and one of those is believed to be the Manchester City striker, Jesus:

(1:09:00) “I know Spurs like Gabriel Jesus, I reported that the other day. Interesting because we know Arsenal like him, actually they’re like [Dominic] Calvert-Lewin as well.

“Jesus is interesting because he can play on the wing as well. He does kind of form both ones and he is a good player. And his contract is reaching its final year so maybe, I think [Manchester] City are asking quite big money for him, but maybe there’s a player there that you can get a little bit of money off.”

TIF Thoughts on Gold’s comments…

The £51m-rated striker has ended the season in better form with six of his eight Premier League goals coming in the final seven appearances for Pep Guardiola’s side (via Transfermarkt). Bernardo Silva even called him ‘one of the most important players’ at Manchester City, which just goes to show how good he really he is.
